Our Special Corner of the Willamette Valley

off the beaten path, with so much to explore

Andanté Vineyard is tucked in the rolling hills within the Van Duzer Corridor AVA, known for its cooling winds from the Pacific Ocean. Our vineyard is due north of the Baskett Slough National Wildlife Refuge, offering more than 10 miles of hiking trails through oak savanna. With Van Duzer Vineyards, Left Coast Cellars, and Johan Vineyards for neighbors, among others, we are part of a growing wine destination just southwest of the Eola-Amity Hills.

Baskett Slough National
Wildlife Refuge

hiking trails and wildlife abound

andanté-vineyard-about-area-wildlife-refuge-horizontal.jpg

The Baskett Slough National Wildlife Refuge provides a stopover for migrating birds and a safe haven for threatened and endangered species. With more than 2,400 acres protected, our neighboring wildlife preserve is a favorite hunting ground for bald eagles and red-tailed hawks and layover for migratory birds like cinnamon teal, mallards, bufflehead, and hooded mergansers.

The wildlife preserve has a series of hiking trails that wind through wetlands and oak savanna. Every season offers something different at the Baskett Slough and we can’t think of a better pre- or post-wine- tasting activity!

Learn more about visiting the Baskett Slough on their website here.

Van Duzer Corridor AVA

perfect vine-growing conditions

andanté-vineyard-about-area-sign.jpg

The Van Duzer Corridor American Viticultural Area (AVA) encompasses portions of Yamhill and Polk Counties — an area with distinct wind and temperature patterns. We have been longtime supporters of this new sub-appellation within the Willamette Valley AVA: in fact, the station where the data was collected for the supporting studies and application is on our site, just up the hill from the winery! We are proud to be among the wineries that can label their wines “Van Duzer Corridor AVA.”

The Majestic Great Egrets

the bird on our bottles

When we moved to Andanté, we were particularly taken by the great egrets, who fly in from the surrounding area to roost above our pond. These beautiful birds, which were hunted almost to extinction for their white feathers, are so precious to us that we adopted their silhouette for our winery logo. To us, they represent the resilience and majesty of nature and remind us of our duty as stewards of the land.
